Highlights:  

·       The National Weather Service reported that the fire weather danger will start to decrease between January 25-27 because of forecasted rain, mountain snow and a drop in temperatures in the affected areas

·       There are currently three major fires:

o   Palisades Fire: 23,448 acres and is 72% contained.

o   Eaton Fire: 14,021 acres and is 95% contained.

o   Hughes Fire: 10,176 acres and is 24% contained.

·       There are at least 55,600 people that are under evacuation orders for the Palisades and Hughes Fire.  The orders for the Eaton Fire have been lifted.

·       Mass Care Update:

o   There are five emergency shelters open.

o   12 animal shelters are open.

o   The Pacific Disaster Center has forecasted the potential needs of survivors:

ü  Eaton Fire: 205,642 Meals Ready to Eat and 81,485 gallons of water per day.

ü  Palisades Fire: 167,244 Meals Ready to Eat and 66,270 gallons of water per day.

o   The World Central Kitchen on January 23 reported that alongside with their 59 restaurant partners and suppliers have served over 200,000 meals to affected communities. WCK is preparing to expand their existing operations.

·       Resources:

o   Palisades Fire: 3,274 crews, 24 Helicopters, 344 Engines, 15 Dozers, 18 Water Tenders and 34 Crews.

o   Eaton Fire: 1,837 Personnel, 94 Engines, 6 Dozers, 14 Water Tenders and 26 Crews.

o   Hughes Fire: 1,200 Personal.

o   CAL Fire reported on January 22 that the entire National Modular Airborne Fire Fighting Systems (MAFFS) fleet has been activated and pre-positioned at the Channel Islands.

·       A total of 16,188 structures have been destroyed according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL Fire).

·       On January 22nd, the California Department of Transportation closed all lanes (north and south bound) of Interstate 5 through the Grapevine due to the Hughes Fire.

·       Los Angeles County has launched a Business Space Share program to support businesses displaced due to the fires.  Details are available here.

·       The Getty Museum is planning on reopening on January 28th.
