Highlights:
• Red Flag Warnings remains in place for parts of Los Angeles and Ventura counties. The National Weather Service (NWS), Los Angeles reported today that winds in the affected areas are weaker than expected.
• There are two large fires in Los Angeles County:
o Palisades Fire: 23,713 acres and 17% contained.
o Eaton Fire: 14,117 acres and 35% contained.
• Fire Resources:
o Palisades Fire: 5,200 Personnel, 44 Helicopters, 540 Engines, 66 Dozers, 60 Water Tenders and 115 Crews.
o Eaton Fire: 3,235 Personnel, 16 Helicopters, 316 Engines, 21 Dozers, 88 Water Tenders and 51 Crews.
• Shelter Update:
o There are seven emergency shelters in place with a population of 705 occupants.
o Nine animal shelters are currently open.
• The World Central Kitchen is distributing free meals to first responders and community members from numerous locations throughout the county.
• Healthcare and Public Health Updates:
o The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office reports that there are 24 fatalities.
o The current evacuation status and relocation of facilities licensed by the California Department of Social Services are available here.
o Mental health support is available from CAL Hope via 833-317-4673 and their website.
• Damage Assessment:
o The California Department of Foresty and Fire Protection (CAL Fire) reports that more than 12,300 structures have been destroyed.
o Los Angeles County has published damage assessment maps for the Palisades Fire and the Eaton Fire.
o The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has posted satellite imagery of the areas affected by the Eaton, Hurst, and Palisades wildfires.
• The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has announced the repopulation of certain areas affected by the Eaton Fire.
• Federal and state debris removal teams are pre-positioned to immediately move into affected Los Angeles areas once deemed safe by emergency officials. Details are available here.
• Los Angeles County Public Libraries are assisting in registering residents for Federal assistance and while supplies last N-95 face masks.
• For families impacted by the Eaton Fire, Los Angeles County Parks is hosting Care Camps from January 13 to 31. These camps will provide youth and teens with a supportive space for fun and recreation.
• Los Angeles County has been monitoring prices in wildfire impacted communities and coordinating with local prosecutors to address alleged violations. Potential violations can be reported here.
• Donations Update:
o CAL Fire is asking residents to stop bringing food to their incident base camps.
o The Los Angeles Fire Department reports that their stations are being overwhelmed with donated items.
o The American Red Cross are also being overwhelmed at their shelters by residents donating clothing.
o The City of Los Angeles has opened donations management centers. Additional details are available here.
• A total of 90,000 customers are without power in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.
• A total of 1,680 California National Guard members are currently deployed.

o FEMA has opened two Disaster Recovery Centers in Los Angeles County.
o The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) National Response Team has been deployed to investigate the cause of the Palisades fire. Tips can be sent via text (63975) or this website.
o The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is seeking information that leads to the identity of a pilot whose drone collided with a “super scooper” airplane conducting fire suppression operations at the Palisades Fire near Malibu, CA.
