Military and Diplomatic Highlights:
Iran
· The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) between February 28th to March 3rd accomplished the following:
o Over 200 aircraft completed 700 sorties.
o Over 50 Iranian drones were shot down by Israeli air defenses.
o The IDF has completed 60 air strikes against missile arrays in Western Iran.
· On March 3rd, the IDF destroyed the Iranian leadership compound. This facility housed their most senior forum.
· A major cyber-attack within the country was reported on March 3rd.
· U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported on March 4th that US forces have sunk over 20 Iranian ships. This includes the sinking of a Iranian naval ship that was off the coast of Sri Lanka. This attack by a US submarine has extended the ongoing conflict to the Indo-Pacific region.
· The US Naval Institute reported on March 4th that NATO assets shot down an Iranian ballistic missile headed for Turkey.
· The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on March 4th reported that based on the latest satellite imagery, IAEA sees no damage to facilities containing nuclear material and therefore there is no radiological release risk at this time.
Lebanon
· UNFIL has reported ongoing rocket and missile attacks from Lebanon into Israel on March 3-4.
· The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNFIL) on March 3rd observed IDF soldiers crossing into Lebanese areas near Markaba, Al Adeisse, Kfar Kela and Ramyah before returning south of the Blue Line.
· The IDF as of March 3 has destroyed 60 Hezbollah targets in Southern Lebanon. These targets included:
o Weapons storage facilities
o Missile launchers
o Command centers
o Additional terrorist infrastructure belonging to the Hezbollah and Hamas terrorist organizations in the Tyre and Sidon areas.
Cyprus
· The United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defense (UK MOD) reported that the drones which targeted Akrotir base on March 2nd was not launched from Iran.
· UK MOD as of March 3rd is deploying the HMS Dragon to the Eastern Mediterranean and two Wildcat helicopters to Cyprus to bolster drone defense.
· The UK MOD reported on March 4th that Royal Air Force Typhoons and F-35B are continuing defensive air operations.
Jordan and Iraq
· On March 3rd, a RAF F-35B fighter jet operating in Jordanian airspace shot down several drones.
· A British Armed Forces Counter-Drone team on March 3rd took down drones in Iraqi airspace that were heading for Coalition forces.
Civil Protection and Humanitarian Assistance Highlights:

· The U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Consular Affairs has issued the following travel advisories:

ü Egypt
· On March 4th, a U.S. State Department charter flight departed the Middle East with American citizens. Additional flights will be surged across the region for stranded American citizens in the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Israel.
· As of March 4th, several EU member states have activated the EU Civil Protection Mechanism to evacuate EU citizens from the Middle East.
Israel
· On March 3rd, the Magen David Adom in Central Israel treated and/or transported 11 people.
Lebanon
· Doctors Without Borders is provided medical care in Saida to people via their mobile clinics.
· UNFIL on March 4th expressed serious concern regarding IDFs statements demanding the evacuation of the civilian population from UNIFIL’s area of operations to north of the Litani river.
· World Central Kitchen as of March 4th has been serving tens of thousands of meals daily to families fleeing the conflict areas. They are accomplishing this by working with six partner kitchens across the country.
Islamic Republic of Iran
· The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) reported as of March 3rd a total of 787 people has been killed due to the conflict.
· The IRCS has 1,009 relief teams deployed in 153 counties throughout the country.
· In regards to the cyber-attack that was reported on March 3rd, humanitarian organizations were forced to rely on radio and landline telephone networks to coordinate operations.
· On March 4th, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) has allocated $1.5 million from their Disaster Response Emergency Funding to reinforce emergency health services and ensure timely humanitarian assistance. This funding will be able to support 200,000 people over nine months.
Violations of International Humanitarian Law Highlights:
Iran
· The UN Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (UNESCO) reported on March 2nd that the Golestan Palace in Tehran (World Heritage site) was reportedly damaged by debris and the shock wave following an airstrike to the Arag Square. The Association for Research into Crimes against Art has confirmed this report.
· On March 3rd, Israeli and/or US air strikes damaged the newborn ward at the Shohada-ye Hastei Hospital.
· Blasts near the Motahari Hospital in Tehran on March 3rd damaged parts of the health facility and forced the evacuation of patients and health staff on March 1st.
· WHO also reported that two medical emergency centers in the city of Sarab and western city of Hamedan were reportedly damaged, and at least two medical staff members were injured.
· The IRCS reported that air strikes severely damaged the Allameh Helli High School in Tehran.
Lebanon
· Three paramedics on March 3rd were killed and six other injuries while they were assisting people injured by explosions in the southern Tyre district.
