Global Highlights: Â
·      As of May 18th, there are a total of 11 cases (9 confirmed & 2 probable).
·      The MV Hondius arrived in the Netherlands on May 18th:
o  The 27 crew members on board will begin a 42-day quarantine period.
o  The ship will undergo a full cleaning and disinfection.
·      The World Health Organization (WHO) has updated the risk assessment:
o  Global: Low
o  Passengers and crew from the MV Hondius: Moderate
·      The risk of onward transmission is expected to be reduced following disembarkation and the implementation of control measures.

Spain Highlights:
·      The Spanish Ministry of Health reported on May 18th that all contacts remain in quarantine at the Gómez Ulla Hospital. All of them remain negative for the virus. Â
·      If successive tests continue to be negative and no symptoms appear, people in quarantine will be able to leave the hospital isolation once 28 days have passed since the date of exposure. Quarantine will then continue at their homes.

Canada Highlights:
·      Canada has confirmed a probable case who was a returning cruise ship passenger. This passenger was evacuated from the ship along with other foreign nationals.
