Highlights: Â
·      There have been 700 aftershocks.
·      There are currently 2,295 fatalities and 11,267 people have been injured.
·      There is no official number of the missing but some sources are reporting between 43,000 to 46,000 people are currently reported as missing.
·      A total of 26,403 people has been affected:
o  12,841 people have been displaced and severely affected.
·      The Venezuelan government has militarized La Guaira to ensure security and to support response operations.
·      The Venezuelan government remains focused on search and rescue operations and on the preparation and expansion of transitional camps to assist affected populations:
o  To aid search and rescue efforts, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has delivered 1,300 rescue tools to the Civil Protection in La Guaira.
o  As of July 2nd, a total of 62 Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) teams remain deployed:
ü These teams include 2,235 personnel and 175 K9s from 28 countries.
ü As of July 1st, 6,461 people have been rescued.
·      A total of 25 operational transitional camps have been opened:
o  13 camps are in La Guaira.
o  Eight camps are in the Capital District.
o  Two camps are in Miranda.
o  One camp is open in Carabobo.
o  One camp is open in the Yaracuy.
·      The Caracas Metro system remains operational.
·      The MaiquetÃa International Airport’s commercial operations remain suspended.
·      Public Health and Healthcare Update:
o  At least 38 hospitals have reported damage.
o  The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) has activated its Incident Management System and Regional Response Team.
o  PAHO has also mobilized supplies from its Strategic Reserve in Panama, including trauma kits, medicines and emergency equipment, while supporting the urgent procurement of additional vaccines, medicines, laboratory supplies and other critical health commodities.
o  A total of 10 health facilities have been assessed by PAHO in the Capital District and La Guaira.
o  A total of 5,900 kilograms of medicines, medical supplies, trauma kits, and emergency response commodities have been deployed.
·      Food Security Update:
o  The Venezuelan government reports that more than eight million food rations and over 26,000 food parcels have been distributed across affected areas.
o  In La Guaira, the World Food Programme (WFP) continued to expand food assistance:
ü At the José MarÃa Vargas sports complex, the WFP has been providing hot meals.
ü WFP delivered 500 ready-to-eat rations in Caraballeda and 240 family food baskets in Playa Grande.
·      The UN Logistics and Telecommunication Cluster (LTC) reported on July 2nd the following:
o  Internet and mobile connectivity remain significantly affected in La Guaira and other impacted locations, with restoration efforts supported by emergency measures including temporary satellite-based communications services.
o  The LTC is coordinating with partners to assess connectivity gaps, support response planning, and mobilize emergency telecommunications and information management support for humanitarian responders.
·      The NASA Disasters Response Coordination System has been activated to support Venezuela. Open access satellite imagery and analysis products are available here.
·      On July 2nd, U.S. Southern Command reports that 2,000 troops are supporting relief operations.
