Taiwan Earthquake Situation Report #3

Highlights:  

·         As of April 7th, there are 13 confirmed fatalities and six people are reported as missing.

·         There are at least 1,133 people injured.

·         The Taiwan Red Cross reports there are 637 trapped individuals as of April 6th.

·         Hundreds of people remain trapped in the National Park between Nantou and Hualien Counties, where several landslides occurred and blocked roads.

·         Search and rescue operations are still being conducted.

·         The Taiwan Red Cross is continuing damage assessments in the affected areas. 

·         The Hualien County Government as of April 6th, reports 201 damaged buildings.

·         The Government of Japan on April 9th extended a $1 million grant through the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association to support response and recovery efforts.
