Highlights:
· There have been more than 300 aftershocks since the initial earthquake:
o Following the initial earthquake several landslides were triggered.
· Fatalities and Injuries:
o At least nine people were killed, including four in Taroko National Park between Nantou and Hualien Counties.
o There are at least 52 people listed as missing.
o At least 1,050 people have been injured.
· The Taiwan Red Cross has set up 20 tents near the affected areas.
· 201 schools in Taipei City have reported damage and six of them have suspended classes.
· Several highways and the railway between Yilan and Hualien counties have been damaged or blocked by landslides, and the Hualien Rural train station is still closed due to damage.
· Search and rescue operations are still ongoing:
o Taiwan Red Cross rescue teams are continuing to search for stranded individuals along the Shakadang Trail.
o At least 130 people are reportedly still trapped.
