Military and Diplomatic Highlights: 

·       As of June 21st, the Ukraine reported the following Russian losses:

o   1,391,950 Soldiers (Wounded or Killed).

o   12,049 Tanks.

o   24,797 Armored vehicles.

o   44,479 Artillery systems.

o   364,149 Unmanned Aerial Systems.

o   1,703 Unmanned ground vehicles.

o   436 Aircraft.

o   353 Helicopters

o   4,787 Cruise missiles.

·       The Ukraine Defense Forces announced on June 18th that they have successfully attacked the Moscow Oil Refinery and a number of other industrial facilities.  

·       On June 20th, the Ukraine Defense Forces announced that 205 million Euros worth of demining machinery and equipment will be arriving this year:

o   A new 95 million Euros fund has been created to clear out land of explosive hazards

o   This effort is being supported by 23 nations.

·       The Ukraine Defense Forces on June 19th have launched Tropy Lab which is a unified platform that shares information on captured Russian weapons and military equipment.

·       International Assistance:

o   On June 18th, Norway has committed $190 million for extended-range ammunition and F-16 fleet maintenance.

o   The Netherlands on June 18th is allocating an additional 250 million Euros to scale Ukraine’s drone capabilities.

o   The United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defense on June 18th announced that at least 150,000 drones and 350 air defense missiles and radar systems will be delivered to Ukraine by the end of this year.

o   The Ukraine Defense Contact Group announced on June 19th, $4 Billion in new aid for Ukraine focusing on frontline capabilities that deliver maximum impact, that includes:

ü  Patriot missiles.

ü  Long-range artillery ammunition.

ü  Unmanned systems.

ü  Cruise drone-missiles.

ü  Naval drones.

·       The International Atomic Energy Agency reported on June 19th that work began to repair the main 750 kilovolt (kV) Dniprovska power line supplying the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Station (ZNPP) began under a localized ceasefire brokered by the IAEA. The repairs were completed on June 20th.

 

War and Atrocity Crimes Investigations Highlights: 

·       On June 20th, the Russian Federation struck multiple regions of the country by 2,200 attack drones and 1,800 guided aerial bombs and 87 missiles:

o   7 people were killed and 38 people were injured.

·       The World Health Organization (WHO) as of May 31st has reported 3,063 attacks on healthcare since February 2022. There have been 248 verified attacks in 2026 alone.

·       On June 5th, three Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) reported that three vehicles used for evacuation in the Kherson region were targeted and damaged by a Russian attack. One volunteer was injured.

·       The State Emergency Services announced on June 20th that rescuer Mykola Derkach died as a result of injuries sustained on June 15th by a Russian double-tap strike.

·       The Russian Federation launched a double-tap strike on a State Emergency Services truck on June 21st.

 

Civil Protection, Humanitarian Assistance and Development Highlights:

·       The URCS reported the following activities between June 4-19:

o   As of June 4th, 22 communities in the Kyiv region have received equipment for volunteer fire brigades from the US government.

o   11 URCS mobile health units now provide primary healthcare in the Odesa region as of June 16th:

ü  Four additional specialized vehicles have been provided to strengthen the service.

o   The URCS as of June 17th has provided over 2,200 gas masks to social care facilities in the Rivne region to strengthen emergency preparedness and safety.

o   On June 19th, the URCS repaired the water supply system in the Babyntsi region, which supports over 3,500 residents.

·       As of June 10th, the EU has received 6,379 requests for medical evacuations from Ukraine:

o   A total of 5,138 missions have been completed.

o   1,188 missions have been cancelled.

o   20 missions had unmet requests.

o   27 missions are currently in progress.

·       The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance (OCHA) in March and April documented 54 humanitarian access incidents across nine regions:

o    One person was killed while receiving humanitarian assistance and at least 14 people, including 12 aid workers, were injured.

·       The World Food Programme (WFP) on June 12th delivered food boxes to over 164,000 people in seven regions in May.

·       Emergency cash assistance from the WFP in May reached 1,260 displaced people.

·       With support from Norway, the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) on June 16th provided 550 small scale farmers in the Chernihivska and Dnipropetrovska oblasts a $2,000 voucher for seeds and fertilizer.

 

Cultural Heritage Protection Highlights:

·       On June 10th, the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) verified damage to 536 cultural heritage sites, this included:

o   154 Religious sites.

o   280 Buildings of historical and/or artistic interest.

o   41 Museums.

o   33 Monuments.

o   22 Libraries.

o   5 Archaeological sites.

o   1 Archive.

·       The International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage (ALIPH) on June 17th announced an emergency envelope of $200,000 to safeguard recently damaged cultural heritage.
