Philippines 7.8 Earthquake Situation Report #3

Highlights:  

·       A total of 1.5 million people has been affected by the earthquake:

o   22,109 people are in 50 evacuation centers.

o   63,351 people are staying with relatives.85,460 people are displaced.

·       The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has reported the following activities:

o   Four Mobile Command Centers have been deployed.

o   Five mobile kitchens have been deployed.

o   DSWD continues to coordinate with the affected Local Government Units with whatever support or technical assistance they require.

o   As of June 20th, DSWD has distributed 481,045 family food packs, 10,364 ready-to-eat food boxes, and 11,773 non-food items to the affected areas.

·       A total of 81,999 homes were destroyed or damaged:

o   14,612 were destroyed.

o   67,387 were damaged.

·       On June 11th, DSWD and the World Food Programme (WFP) set-up another mobile storage unit in General Santos City.

·       DSWD with support from the WFP has reached 630,000 people with assistance as of June 18th.
